David Landis (AKA The Gay Gourmet) is a Reporter at Francisco Bay Times covering food, chefs, cookbooks, consumer food products restaurants, wine/liquor, travel, hospitality, hotels and occasionally the arts and entertainment. David is the recipient of a San Francisco Bay Area Press Club Journalism Award for feature writing and has been a judge for three years for the prestigious Los Angeles-based Taste Awards, "the Oscars of food, wine and media." The best time pitch is Tuesdays-Thursdays from 10 am-1 pm PST. It's best to pitch via email. David's publication publishes twice a month and reaches about 250,000 in readership and is one of the Bay Area's longest-running LGBTQ publications. Columns are also amplified through social media and the social media of the San Francisco Bay Times. David works 2-3 months in advance for bigger features and at least 1-2 months in advance for news items.
